Juan Portillo holds a PhD in Sustainable Energy Systems from IST/ULisboa and is aMechanical Engineer with over 20 years of experience in the energy sector. He worked in Oil & Gas with companies like Petrobras and PDVSA GAS in roles spanning engineering, operations, planning, and supply management, participating in large gas projects (in the order of thousands of millions of Euros). Since 2013, he has focused on sustainable energy systems, including offshore renewables, the integration of hybrid systems, and hydrogen competitiveness. He currently works at LNEG’s Resource Economics Unit and is aninvited professor at IST/Univ. Lisboa.
